Our quiz evening with a difference

Our last quiz night was a huge success and virtually all those who came along are already asking for the date of the next one.

If you haven’t been to one or our brain teasers, they are quiz nights with a difference.
For instance as well as the normal questions, there are other competitions involving food and wine.

The wine tasting was, needless to say, popular and we asked people to rate three white wines in price order.

All tasted very different, but when we announced that they were all from the same grape variety and asked which it was there were some baffled faces.

Hannah also prepared three jellies and asked what was used in the cooking. The final one, a grey jelly which was made with red currents, had most people fooled.

But the best part of the evening was when we asked one member of each team to prepare a pizza, from rolling out the dough to cooking it in the pizza oven, after a demonstration from Jeremy. This provoked a fair amount of banter and flour covered jumpers, but the results when they came out of the oven, were pretty good.

Keep watching this space for details of our New Year’s Eve party. This year we are changing the format from the casino games.

Once details are released make sure you book early as the new format which we talked about briefly on the quiz night provoked huge interest.

This week Jeremy seasonal ingredients include samphire, red deer, mackerel, curly kale, and Cromer crab and Hannah has devised some new wonderful deserts to include raspberries and plums. Just don’t worry about the wasitlines!!
