ere's some of the reviews that have been written about us over the past few years. In 2007 we were finalists in the EDP Good Food Awards, Plough to Plate Category, recognised for supporting our local farmers and suppliers and being aware of the benefits this has on our area.

Norwich Evening News 'Eating Out' review

Date: 28 December 2007
Reviewer: Lucy Boulton.

This was the perfect setting for a Christmassy family meal. Lots of beautiful calming rooms with well thought home made delicious food.
I've been here before and I'd definitely go again. The restaurant is divided into three separate areas and each has been designed and decorated with a warm yet clean feel. There are beams over the fireplaces juxtaposed with modern fresh paintings on the wall and even though there are quite a few tables, there's never a sense of being too near to your neighbouring party.

Eastern Daily Press: 'Plenty of Food for Thought', Best for Country Gastropub

Again there are lots of them in the county but Relish Restaurant & Bar, Old Street, Newton Flotman is a real gem where local produce is always top of the menu. Jeremy and Rachael Parke use local farmers. The cooking is first class with presentation matching quality of produce. Top marks.

Eastern Daily Press Spring article

Date: February 2006
Reviewer: Bill Starling, registered inspector with the Soil Association.

From Bill's editorial:

As spring gets nearer wouldn't some English daffodils be nicer than strange, pastel coloured hothouse flowers? St. Valentines is also a popular time to go out for a special meal. An increasing number of restaurants now make a point of using local produce and telling you the actual farm it came from.
One such near me is Relish at Newton Flotman. The proprietor does the cooking and is proud of the ingredients and where they come from. It may be slightly more expensive and slower than some chains or franchises, but that's part of what having a special meal is all about.
